Your responsibilities:

Schubeler designs, manufactures and sells electric ducted fans and other electrically driven turbomachinery. Customers from the Aerospace, Automotive and Robotics industries routinely require that Schubeler modifies its standard products to their requirements or develops build-to-spec systems for their industrial applications. Depending on the request, these projects may run from a couple of weeks to multiple years and involve members from one or several Engineering departments (Structural Design, Aerodynamic Design, Mechanical Design & CAD, Electrical & Electronics Design) in the course of the development process.

The senior engineering project manager Schubeler is looking to hire will be responsible for the success of the project’s engineering development from its inception (i.e., definition of customer requirements) to its completion (i.e., delivery of prototypes to customers and hand-over of the product to the Production team).

As part of this mission, he/she will:

  • Be the customer’s main Schubeler point person
  • Lead, manage and supervise the engineering team – depending on the project, the project engineering team will consist of 1 or more members of 1 or more Schubeler’s engineering teams; the project manager will work closely with the head(s) of the relevant engineering team(s) to ensure at any given time availability of needed team members for his/her project
  • Provide guidance to customers on technical aspects of the project
  • Be responsible for the fulfillment of project engineering milestones in timely fashion and in accordance with customer expectations
  • Work closely with the purchasing team on procuring software & hardware equipment, tooling and parts needed by the team members in connection with the engineering development (including the building of test benches)
  • Work closely with the quality team on all quality aspects of the project
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure that the completion of the project stays on tracks with financial cost estimates
  • Hand over the newly designed product to the production team for commencement of series production

You will be reporting to Schubeler’s Co-CEO, Technology.

Your Profile

You have/are:

  • A master degree in aerospace engineering
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in project management for the aerospace industry
  • Good aerospace culture and/or automotive culture
  • Actual experience in aerodesign, structural design, safety engineering – Experience or familiarity with aerospace certification is a plus
  • A very good knowledge of German and English, both spoken and written – proficiency in French is a plus
  • A fully-developed sense of responsibility and a high level of initiative and autonomy
  • Customer-focused, creative and practical thinking
  • Good social skills
  • Dynamic and autonomous way of working
  • Driving license class B
